SoulOnTheGo Our Soul Story : Terry, Amy, Patti

Terry

My sister-in-law Amy was writing inspirational messages on sticky notes and putting them on her daughter’s mirror to help redirect the focus of her day. At the same time, she and I were studying a self-help book together and never could remember what it was we were supposed to be focusing on that day. We were joking about writing it out on a sticky note and posting the thought right there on our dashboards so we wouldn’t forget. As we spoke, the words “A little Soul on the Go” poured out of my mouth. Sometimes having that one thing to shift into a different perspective is all it takes-some nourishment for your soul. That day Soul on the Go began its journey. I designed the packaging so that it would feel like a little gift you give to yourself each day. Enjoy.

Soul on the Go was the perfect expression for the quotes and affirmations I was using with my daughter to help her develop effective coping strategies. The short constant stream of character builders delivered to her via sticky notes effectively kept unproductive negative self-talk at bay and proved to be much more effective than our discussions (lectures according to some). She became more confident in her abilities, better able to align herself with the opportunities inherent in every situation, and above all happier. Really, they helped me just as much. I was surprised to see how often they pulled me out of the moment and reconnected me to what was possible. Our company was born when Patti joined, propelling us to bring it to life. In essence, Soul on the Go is a way to cultivate and harness the power of Hope—which, with perfect serendipity is my daughter’s name.

My dear friend, Amy, gifted me with scripture verses on sticky notes to help me during a difficult time in my life.  I put them on the bathroom mirror, in my bedside drawer, and on my computer. These “words on paper” helped me to focus on what I know to be true while I was in the midst of it all. This spun into energetic conversations about us forming our own company so that others can also benefit. Being a former teacher, mother of 3, and a person who wants to contribute to this world, I am thrilled to see how redirecting our focus can create positive change for our future.
